A Patchwork Quilt Revisited

My home is full to bursting with a patchwork quilt or two.

I’ve been a patchwork and quilter for over twenty years.  There are so many projects stashed away in my home that I sometimes forget just what I’ve made.

If you’ve ever meet an avid patch-worker, you’ll probably know that somewhere in their home, lives the biggest pile of large bed quilts you can possibly imagine.

Well it’s the same in my home.

For over ten years, I worked in a Patchwork and Quilting shop, making quilt samples for the shop and samples for my own workshops too. Hence, my ‘pile’ is slightly bigger than most.

A case of what to do with it !

Following a very expensive trip (isn’t it always !) to the Newark Antique show last year, I came home with some of the most yummy goodies including a very sad looking leather case.

For £10 it was coming home with me regardless of it’s state. I quite like buying ‘sad’ things, because most are past their best and it gives me ‘permission’ to do what I like with them, to up-cycle or revamp in my own way.

This is what it ended up like but it looked a little bit different before I started.
