Contemporary Craft Festival in 2016 & 2017 had been so awesome that I just had to return again this year.

Ready, Steady Go!

Queues were starting to build as I arrived with the sun shining and my festival ticket was in my hand. The queues were already starting to form and I was anticipating the chatting and shopping ahead of me.

Working with Wool – Green Dragon Eco Farm

On Bank Holiday Monday, I was invited along with my fellow Feltmakers to Green Dragon Eco Farm.   It’s was a joy to be part of Working with Wool.

The venue had a huge hall filled to bursting with lots of spinning wheels, wet felting, a table loom and lots of beautiful wool art pieces (many of the artists will be participating soon in Bucks Arts Week).
As part of the Feltmakers ‘team’, I was kept busy, setting up our stand and teaching wet felting ‘make-n-takes’, however, it wasn’t long before long I was distracted and started chatting to the other exhibitors – easily done! Continue reading “Working with Wool – Green Dragon Eco Farm”

Embroidery – Hares, Hearts and Hexies

The wonderful Autumn weather brings with it the most vibrant colours and those cool, blue, crisp days. It’s around this time of year that I retreat into my sewing room to rediscover textile projects and some long forgotten embroidery that needs a little tweaking or finishing. This year it includes Hares, Hearts and Hexies.

My latest thing is mounting work in anticipation of new hanging space in my home.  Also helped by a fast approaching deadline for a local quilt show.
Some pieces have been moved around my sewing room for so long that the thought of having to frame them has made me really focus.  Pushing me to work on ‘how to finish’ the piece.  I’ve sourced some fabulous white frames and I’m now on a roll. Continue reading “Embroidery – Hares, Hearts and Hexies”
