Found: Toy Lion is my latest hand embroidered artwork. The 2cm wide panel of stitched cloth is wrapped around a little toy lion from my childhood home.
Eco dyed cotton cloth, sourced from a preloved pillowcase, forms the background for the sewn words.
Words: In a little wooden box, veneer missing long ago, amongst the cotton reels, needle and pins.
The words are my own and hand embroidered in vintage Sylko thread onto eco printed cotton cloth. Attached to the toy lion with a handmade cord of vintage thread.
Size: Height 8cm x Width 5cm x Depth 2cm.
This is the first piece of work in my ‘Found’ series.
