For me, a shopping trip to any vintage shop is a time for inspiration and an opportunity to think creatively about texture, colour and style.
Every box or shelf holds the key to the start of a new project, just like these black and white zig-zag lines which caught my eye.

Following a very expensive trip (isn’t it always !) to the Newark Antique show last year, I came home with some of the most yummy goodies including a very sad looking leather case.
For £10 it was coming home with me regardless of it’s state. I quite like buying ‘sad’ things, because most are past their best and it gives me ‘permission’ to do what I like with them, to up-cycle or revamp in my own way.
This is what it ended up like but it looked a little bit different before I started.

Most people are happy with a pet goldfish, cat or dog but my younger sister has an alpaca or three. They have a wonderful temperament and keep the weeds down in her meadow and also produce wonderful fleece…. which she gives to me !
