A little textile inspiration from my YouTube ‘Meet the Artist’ Collection. Today it features beautiful appliqué quilts by artist Dawn Cameron Dick.

Dawn has over 40 years experience working in the textiles industry and is best known for her signature technique ‘Invisible Machine Appliqué’. She teaches all over the world including the Festival of Quilts, Houston Quilt Festival & QuiltEuro. Dawn has written four books (details below), presented on a TV sales channel, filmed classes for Just Hands on TV and filmed her own DVDs. Catch up with Dawn at the Festival of Quilts 2021 as she explains her techniques and shares her beautiful exhibition quilts with us.

Sarah Gwyer – Meet the Artist

A little textile inspiration from my YouTube ‘Meet the Artist’ Collection. Today it features Contemporary embroidery by artist Sarah Gwyer.

In this YouTube, Sarah shares and talks about her ‘Contemporary Pop’ art. Each piece features layers of hand applied beads and slow-stitched embroidery.

Sarah’s work has been on exhibition in New York and London. In 2017 she exhibited at The Royal Academy of Arts, ‘Summer Exhibition 2017’.

Sarah is a member of The Society for Embroidered Work.

Claire Edwards – Meet the Artist

'Rising from the Ashes' couture dress created by Claire Edwards. The Phoenix is all hand beaded.

A little textile inspiration from my YouTube ‘Meet the Artist’ Collection. Today it features the detailed hand embroidery by artist Claire Edwards.

In this YouTube, Claire shares and talks about her latest collection which is based on the coral oceans. She also explains how she created her iconic ‘Rising from the Ashes’ couture dress. Claire’s work has been acknowledged with a number of awards. These include the prestigious award from Hand & Lock plus two awards from the Bradford Textile Society.

Claire is a member of The Society for Embroidered Work.
