Contemporary Craft Festival 2018, Bovey Tracey – YouTube

The recent heatwave has provided a perfect opportunity for me to catch up with a little housekeeping. Not the domestic kind but a bit of computer housekeeping.  I’ve tweaked and organised some photos and rediscovered some video footage from The Contemporary Craft Fair at Bovey Tracey.  So after a little editing I’ve put together this rather jolly video diary to share with you.

I regularly receive questions on Instagram, about the artists I meet on my travels and how to contact them. Therefore, at the very end of this video I’ve included a selection of wonderful artists along with their contact details.

Mister Finch & ‘The Wish Post’ Exhibition

I’ve just returned home from a relaxing two week stay in Lancashire. Family, lots of tea and plenty of vintage shopping! As you may know,  I’m always on the hunt for some indulgent textile inspiration, so on my way back south I swung by the Yorkshire Sculpture Park to see a collection of work by the fabulous Mister Finch.

In this beautiful exhibition, spread over two floors,  I discovered the woodland characters featured in his new ‘The Wish Post‘ book.

It wasn’t long before I was drawn into the fairy-tale world of Mister Finch.

Mister Finch - Downstairs I was greeted by a jolly long-tailed rat and his two tiny companions. Each covered from head to toe in vintage textiles, embroidery and beads.

Childwickbury Arts Fair 2018 Art Fair 2018

I can’t quite believe The Contemporary Craft Fair at Bovey Tracey was only last month.  Whilst I was there, I heard out about another event a little closer to home – the Childwickbury Arts Fair in Hertfordshire.  It sounded like another Art in Action,  so I had to check it out.
