Creativity in action with Tim Holtz

The wonderful Tim Holtz at CHSI 2012...... the font of all mixed media knowledge.
A warm and very generous man who is happy to share all he knows about his art... and he knows a lot .!

A rainbow of colour

I have always wanted a visual way of displaying my threads so they are easy to access as well as beautiful to look at. My husband took this as a challenge and created a gorgeous thread rack out of up-cycled wood and bits n bobs. I love it and it warms my heart every time I see it....... it was fun loading my boxed-up threads onto the display and seeing the colour palette develop in front of my eyes. The threads are cottons and embroidery threads and the rich colours 'sing'. It has pride of place on my sewing room wall.

Kreinik Threads

Last weekend I met Doug Kreinik of Kreinik threads at the CHSI Trade Show in Birmingham and fell in love with his super thread selection. I couldn't resist making some samples with the Iron-on threads... the  threads came home with me and are currently work in progress.

Inspiration when you least expect it

What a wonderful place Alexandra Palace is. Most of us know it for hosting shows , especially the Knitting and Stitching Show in October.... but there is a lot to be seen behind the scenes.

It was a joy to see the beauty of a Victorian Theatre hidden away from the public for decades. I found the colours of peeling paintwork heavenly.
